More Than 25,000 Implore South Korea to Ditch Dog Meat

Today, we are sending off 25,300 hand-signed, hard copy petitions that we collected from our concerned supporters against the dog meat trade in South Korea to the Korean Consulate in San Francisco.

South Korea is the only country in the world that allows dogs to be intensively farmed for human consumption. Millions of dogs suffer immense cruelty and torture living on such farms, being trucked across the country only to have it all end by horrific measures, such as electrocution. This is all done to satisfy the human demand for dog meat, driven in part by the widespread myths that dog meat has positive health benefits and increases male virility.

Boknal Days, the presumed three hottest days of the summer, are when such myths really take a toll on South Korea’s dogs as the consumption of dog meat peaks. Such days are quickly approaching. It is time for the South Korean government and its officials to take a stand to end the cruelty.

We are dedicated to work until dog meat is finally ditched for good. Thank you for your support and for lending your voices for the dogs. Our office dogs Sally, Roger and Clash send a special thank you!
