I’m Shadow!

My name is Shadow, and I am about 10 years old, and I am slowly going blind.

Because of this, my previous guardians decided that they just didn’t want me anymore. It was heartbreaking!

Luckily for me, the staff at In Defense of Animals’ Hope Animal Sanctuary took me in and set me up to live with another horse friend named Rodney, who is also blind. Rodney has taught me how to find my way around our pasture, and he has helped me to get to where water and hay are kept.

The caregivers at Hope Animal Sanctuary brush me, give me baths and have my hooves trimmed when needed. They make sure that I always have plenty of hay, feed, and grass to eat. I am very happy that I have people who love and care for me even though I cannot see and am not perfect anymore.
