Are You An Animal Activist Workaholic?

Are You An Animal Activist Workaholic?

Sometimes we are so focused on helping animals that we neglect to care for ourselves. Over time and without self-care, we can become animal activist “workaholics.” We start to feel overwhelmed, frustrated and discouraged about our efforts to help animals. It doesn’t have to be this way – we are here to help you and the animals!

Mindfulness, meditation, and progressive muscle relaxation techniques can all help calm the mind and body, restoring our sense of balance. Learning to communicate in healthy way and setting limits are keys to help us continue our activism for the long-haul.

Professional counselor, certified compassion fatigue therapist, and animal companion loss grief recovery specialist Jennifer A. Blough, MA, LLPC, is joining us to share helpful tools from her new book, “To Save a Starfish: A Compassion Fatigue Workbook for the Animal Welfare Warrior,” on our next Sustainable Activism Webinar on Thursday, October 6, 5:00 p.m. – 6 p.m. PDT (8:00 p.m. – 9 p.m. EDT). You can join this live webinar via phone or online. All participants will be sent a replay link and a copy of the chat log following the webinar.
