Bongi is a 6-year-old Labrador who was abandoned late last year, supposedly, by her own family. Just by chance, a group of college boys found her wandering, tired and confused, through the streets of Mumbai. They immediately took her under their collective wing, providing a safe haven as her new guardians. They soon noticed a large tumor developing on her stomach, and on February 26th, the boys brought her into our IDA India center, deeply concerned.
Our veterinarians performed the necessary surgery to remove the tumor, and she received thorough follow-up care by our committed center staff and volunteers. From there, she needed to be watched carefully, as she healed and gained strength.
On April 6th, an excited Bongi was reunited with her grateful family, and the boys took her back into their care. She had been a gem during her stay; she loved our staff and was loved in return by one and all.
