In Defense of Animals champions the Safeguard American Food Exports (SAFE) Act
Every year over 150,000 American horses, including many pregnant mares and wild mustangs, are shipped to slaughter plants across the border where they are killed in the most brutal, cruel and inhumane ways imaginable. Their meat ends up on plates in Europe and Japan, or mixed with beef and sold back to U.S. consumers - including the harmful contaminants from any medicines they received.
In Defense of Animals champions the Safeguard American Food Exports (SAFE) Act, to protect horses from slaughter. We are working to expose the criminal acts being carried out at every stage of this process, and the authorities that are turning a blind eye to these illegal activities.
