San Rafael, CA (February 15, 2017) – In Defense of Animals has teamed up with animal communicator Joan Ranquet to host international crisis talks at the first ever Hope for Animals Summit. Concerned people across the globe are invited to join some of the most respected and dedicated activists for a series of free online talks that will benefit anyone who wants to prevent harm to animals at this critical time.

“We are experiencing the world political stage changing as dramatically as anything could, with radical consequences for animals and the environment,” said In Defense of Animals President, Dr. Marilyn Kroplick. “Never has there been a time when so much of what we cherish in the world is in question, so much is at stake, and so many people asking, ‘how can I help animals?’ Come and discuss what this changing world may have in store for our one world and all who live here, and learn what you can do to make hope for animals.”

Hope for Animals Summit talks take place each Tuesday and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. PST (4 p.m. to 5 p.m. EST), between February 28 and March 23. The online webinar series is accessible by phone or computer, live or via replay links. Free advocacy kits will be provided by each speaker.

World-renowned speakers include eminent authors and activists Jonathan Balcombe, PhD, of The Humane Society Institute for Science and Policy; Marc Bekoff, PhD; Jennifer A. Blough, LPC; Marc Ching of The Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation; Lynn Cullens of the Mountain Lion Foundation; Ellie Laks of Gentle Barn; Lorrin Maughan; Joan Ranquet; Carl Safina, PhD, of The Safina Center; Cheryl Schwartz, DVM; and In Defense of Animals’ Toni Frohoff, PhD; Kiana Kang; and Lisa Levinson.
