Efforts to Reform San Francisco Zoo
For decades animal welfare problems have plagued the San Francisco Zoo. Many of the animals have been housed in the same cement enclosures for decades, despite the zoo spending tens of millions of dollars. New animals continue to be brought into the zoo, while animals are left to languish in outdated and inhumane conditions.

Bull Fighting
Bullfighting aficionados contend that the events are battles to the death in which either participant, the bull or the matador may die. In reality, the bull never has a chance to win, and the bullfight is only a cruel spectacle of human dominance.   full story here

Greyhound Racing
In the United States, betters wager billions of dollars on dog races every year. Dog racing is illegal in 34 states.(1) However, the laws prohibiting racing are largely ineffectual, because federal law does not prohibit the interstate shipment of greyhounds used in racing.   full story here
Dog Fighting
Animal blood sports have been around for ages. Cockfights have been held for centuries, and underground dog fighting rings continue to operate throughout the country and the world in spite of widespread efforts to make these cruel events a relic of the past.
