Boycott rodeos and other events where animals are used for “entertainment.” Encourage your friends and family to do so as well.

Lobby for change. You can help end rodeos by lobbying local and state government officials to enact stricter laws governing rodeo operations. You may want to start small, asking that legislators require the presence of a veterinarian at all events, and that they outlaw particularly cruel events like calf roping.

Protest the rodeo. If you hear of a rodeo coming to your area, contact IDA for help in organizing a protest Email: idainfo@idausa.org. If protesting isn’t your style, contact your local animal control and ask them to inspect the facilities. Go along and take a camera and a notepad to document any violations of local animal welfare statutes.
