1. Write to your Senators and Representatives to protest the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s willingness to allow the commercial trade in wild elephants, as evidenced by the agency’s approval of permits for the San Diego and Lowry Park Zoos to import 11 wild African elephants and the Six Flags Marine World amusement park to import 2 baby Asian elephants from India. Explain that wildlife advocates have been forced to go to federal court three times to force the agency uphold the U.S. Endangered Species Act and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna (CITES) regulations.
