IDA's International Day of Action for Dogs and Cats in South Korea 2010 a Success!

IDA's International Day of Action for Dogs and Cats in South Korea was a huge success! We had 38 cities around the world participating in events ranging from protests and leafletings outside South Korean Embassies and Consulates to tables at universities. People were very creative with home made signs this year. In San Francisco, a clever activist made signs that said, "Don't Wok the Dog!" Dallas activists made some stirring and affective signs with heartbreaking images. We presented the South Korean Consulate in San Francisco with over 20,000 individually signed petitions from IDA members asking the South Korean Government to please enforce the laws protecting dogs and cats and end this terrible practice. Phoenix received some great media coverage from a local TV station. This year's action defiantly brought needed attention to the plight of the South Korean dogs tortured and killed for their flesh. Check out the photos below of our events across the U.S. and around the world.

At the South Korean Consulate in San Francisco, people in dog masks sat in a cage right on the corner outside of the South Korean Consulate.
