Inspection Report Evaluations February 16, 2000 Return to main menu
41-A-0235 The most obvious discrepancy in the inspection reports for Peggy Bondzins facility relates to a March 13, 1996 inspection report in which requirements for outdoor enclosures are marked "NA" for not applicable. During my visit to the facility some dogs were housed outdoors in hutch style cages as well as tethered (violation). On a February 26, 1998 inspection report it was noted that "The one raised pen with the bare wire flooring is no longer acceptable
" This type of enclosure is typically free standing and kept outdoors. An inspection prior to that also addressed the requirements for outdoor housing. Also, as with many other inspection reports the primary enclosures and means of conveyance (for transportation requirements) were marked with "NS" for "Not Seen". These breeders and brokers must transport puppies and or kittens, however, these items are rarely inspected unless the licensee happens to be in the process of shipping at the time of inspection. Since inspections are conducted so infrequently these items should always be inspected.
