Inspection Report Evaluations February 16, 2000 Return to main menu
41-A-0248
For the number of dogs housed at this facility there are absolutely too few inspections. Some of the dogs are housed in covered outdoor enclosures and others housed in a concrete building. Probably the most prominent memory of my visit to this kennel was the total darkness in which the indoor dogs were housed. A couple of dogs exhibited behavioral problems that could be attributed to living in persistent darkness. Unfortunately, as I have just mentioned, there are too few inspections considering the number of dogs housed at this facility. Oddly, the Renners daughter, Michelle Sonnenberg, operates a USDA licensed kennel next door, however, the inspector has failed to manage time wisely and inspect both facilities while in the area. Inspection History Since November 14, 1996 Three inspections Inventory: 174 adult dogs, 63 puppies November 14, 1996 Routine Category I, Non-compliant item(s) previously identified that have been corrected: Records, 2.75 (a)(2) Veterinary care, 2.40 Category III, Non-compliant item(s) identified this inspection: Ventilation, 3.2 Feeding, 3.9 (b) Housekeeping, 3.11 © Veterinary care, 2.40 (b)(2) August 4, 1997 Routine Category I, Non-compliant item(s) previously identified that have been corrected: Ventilation, 3.2 (b) Feeding, 3.9 (b) Housekeeping, 3.11 © (No mention of veterinary care cited in previous inspection) Category III, Non-compliant item(s) identified this inspection: Records, 2.75 (a)(1)(I) September 2, 1998 Routine Category I, Non-compliant item(s) previously identified that have been corrected: Records, 2.75 (a)(1)(I)
