For the number of dogs housed at this facility the inspection history is quite disturbing. The inspections also include a "Pre-license" inspection subsequent to a "routine" inspection, which may be due to automatic termination of the license for failure to file an annual report. In light of Animal Care’s gross mismanagement of the Animal Welfare Program one can only wonder. Numerous non-compliant items were cited on the most recent inspection, which was dated July 29, 1998. In light of those non-compliant items a re-inspection is warranted especially since some of those items were cited in January 1997. Excessive time frames seem to be given for some corrective measures such as resealing of wood surfaces. The time allowed was approximately 3 months even though 100 animals were affected — average length of time to construct a new home. Time and again policy seems to reflect more concern for the licensee rather than the animals supposedly protected by the Animal Welfare Act.
