Ed Van Doren

The facility operated by Ed Van Doren is quite large housing dogs in several buildings one of which was across the street from the main compound. In view of the size of this facility the inspection history is pathetic. On the April 16, 1997 inspection report the requirements pertaining to transport enclosures and primary means of conveyance were marked "NS" for "not seen". This licensee is a major supplier of puppies to pet shops and obviously has to ship the puppies. Why then do the inspectors consistently ignore those items during routine inspections? On September 30, 1997 Mr. Van Doren was cited for a violation of 3.14 (b) since the puppies "…were being transported in crates that had an accumulation of dirt and grime present along the top and sides."
