A stray cat was rushed to our In Defense of Animals India Center in Deonar recently, barely hanging on to life. He had deep lacerations all around his neck and putrid skin peeling off to reveal ligaments and raw flesh beneath. He was in such bad shape that many thought the most compassionate action would be to euthanize him. Fortunately, our management trustee, Dr. Dinesh Vinherkar, didn’t want to give up.

Dr. Dinesh personally performed the delicate surgery to save the cat’s life. Gradually, over the course of a month, with great care and determination by Dr. Dinesh, Dr. Parab, and helpers, his fur began to grow back around the stitches. This strong feline is, almost unbelievably, moving toward full health again.

Now this lucky cat has been taken home by some loving guardians, and all of us here at the IDA India Center are delighted and wish him well in his new forever home.
