Tony was Saber's Angel

My cat, Tony, is 13 and an angel with other animals. He was raised with Rottweilers. Saber, one of my Rottis, was blind and Tony sensed that he was fearful. I can't tell you the number of times I saw Tony sleeping with Saber who was ill and became ill. His last night here, Tony didn’t leave his side. Saber wasn't able to get up and I had to lift him so that he could change positions. He was a 90 pound Rotti and difficult for me to lift. As I lifted Saber, Tony would walk underneath him and arch his back and rub against Saber. It was as if he were saying, "I'm here, I'll help you." Tony and I stayed with Saber all night. It was so touching to see how different species could have such compassion for each other. I only hope that I can be as comforting to Tony when his time comes. I am very grateful that I can share this lifetime with my friend, Tony.

Rubyn of Cambridge is senior in years but young at heart

Rubyn, my older gentleman cat, is totally older and Fabulous. He frequently lets his inner freak out as he ages. He used to be deathly afraid of the shower curtain and now thinks the shower is the best place in the house. He practically lives in there and only comes out to eat and shake off.

Whitey, Such A Senior Cat!

My senior male cat Whitie is a rescue. He was found abandoned weeks after his family moved away. He had severe tooth decay and a broken tail. A member of my family now for over 3 years, Whitie can't get enough attention. He will meow, lick, and nudge until he is petted and is best friends with our other male cat who was adopted later. He's full of love and I can't imagine how anyone could have left him behind.

Harley Fit Right In

About 14 years ago, when I was newly married and living in the hills in Los Angeles, we were owned by 4 cats, a rescued Doberman and Collie. They were a peaceful and happy group.

Our neighbor had been given a tiny Siamese mix kitten that he named "Harley". He had several dogs and cats and let them out often. Most of the cats disappeared since this was Coyote territory. Yet he had a few very old cats. They were always dark grey or black. My theory being that their dark color helped them to camouflage.

Late one evening we heard meowing. I called the neighbor and told him that she was out. He said she had missed the litter pan and was being punished. I immediately swooped her up and brought her into our home.

The next morning, our neighbor, also, our landlord, appeared at the door. "Do you have Harley?” he asked, as he simultaneously stared at my husband high end boots. "Nice boots Robb", he said. "What size shoe are you?", asked Rob. "10", answered the landlord. Robb slipped off his new boots, the landlord sat down, slipped on the boots, got up and left, saying, "Bye Harley".

That was almost 14 years ago. Harley now rules the roost. Her blue eyes sparkle. She has never missed the pan.

Muchie

This is my cat Munchie. She’s 15 years old and still going strong. Munchie is a Manx tabby who was born with a crippled right leg. Luckily she avoided amputation and gets around just as well, if not better, than my other cats. She’s a very special cat for sure.

My Fabulous Cat Sissy

I went to the local Humane Society about a year and half ago seeking a kitten. Instead, I left with a 14 year old black cat named Sissy. Sissy has a very big heart and loves everyone. She cheers me up when I am sad. Sissy’s compassion makes her an absolutely fabulous cat.

Sadie, The Bold And Beautiful

Sadie, 14, is a remarkable girl with no teeth, rescued from a neglect situation. She loves to lay on my chest and purrs like crazy to get more affection. She is shy and sensitive but will push the boys out of the way for food! She is bold when it counts.

Zelda, What A Love!

Zelda passed away at age 19.5 in 2006. She was such a love. She slept cuddled under my chin every night happily dreaming. She loved people and would jump into anyone's lap who came to visit. Everyone who met Zelda loved her. She loved to give affection, purring in my ear.

Ollie, My Best Friend

Ollie, my dear cat, passed away on September 5, 2006 after being with me for 11 years. Ollie loved everyone.

When I was pregnant in 2004, quite suddenly, I developed complications with my pregnancy. I remained on bed rest for two weeks before I gave birth to my daughter who had sadly died only hours before.

During my entire bed rest, Ollie was my angel. He stayed in bed with me all day long, every day. He only got up when I had to use the restroom.

Sadly, around the same time that I lost my baby, Ollie was diagnosed with Lymphoma of the digestive tract.

Ollie braved the disease for 16 months He did the best he could to not leave me. All the while, his demeanor never changed. He was a happy cat, talking curling up with me, greeting visitors, looking out his favorite window. Ollie was my best friend.

Patsy's Now At Ease

Patsy...He was the most amazing creature I have ever met. 19 years old, lived on the streets for 18 years, skin cancer, multiple surgeries including ear amputations, and finally, mast cell tumors took over his little spleen.

RIP buddy.

My Scooter

Scooter came to me as a little orphan and turned into a professional beggar right before my eyes. It's so hard to resist her poor manners while you're eating, because she's just so darn cute! Scooter (who will be 14 in August) wanting Grandma to share that bacon!

My Angel

My beautiful Angel showed up in front of my apartment just a few days before Halloween in 1991 and crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on 1/11/06. He loved everyone he ever met – cat, dog or human -- and also loved to eat off of your plate. I miss him forever.

My Snowfire

His head on my pillow covered by most of my blanket, draped over my shoulder, or loudly complaining about everything - Snowfire has been my companion for 17 years. We have moved, lost pets and people, but when I call - he still comes running always saying 'wait for me Mom, I'm coming'.

Awesome Chester

Dropped by a bird of prey with a hole pierce through his leg at 6 weeks. He became the official greeter and friend to hundreds of fosters, reminds me when his insulin shot is due, and fought off a Doberman ( and won ) when it came after me. Chester is 14 and an AWESOME feline!

Our Cat Cajin

Dear Cat Therapist;

Why should my cat win the Oldest Cat Contest? Because she is 21 years old! My daughter received Cajin when my daughter was a baby and Cajin was 9 months old. She has out lived 3 dogs and in one of the photos you will see her trying to keep warm with our newest member of the family our Sheperd. She survived 2 moves. One was 1800 miles from Florida to Wisconsin. She sometimes forgets she has been fed. Cajin has lost most of her teeth and walks like a little old lady but still uses her cat box.

Thanks, The Jackson Family
