Senate Bill 101 is scheduled to be heard by a committee of Indiana Assembly Members TOMORROW, Tuesday, January 7, at 10:00 am. Please call the committee members to let them know that you strongly oppose this Ag Gag bill. SB 101 is attempting to criminalize the investigation of cruelty to animals on factory farms and in slaughterhouses.
Thanks to dedicated animal advocates like you, California bill SB 675 has been dropped! We suspect that this bill would have been amended to allow for “humanely produced” foie gras. This would have negatively compromised California’s ban on the production and sale of this egregiously cruel “delicacy.”
Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam vetoes the proposed “ag gag” bill. Ag Gag bills seek to criminalize individuals who document animal abuse in slaughterhouses and on factory farms. Without the evidence that undercover video provides, the worst abuses committed by the factory farming industry would go unseen and unpunished.
