Celebrate Victories

Our Sustainable Activism Tip of the week comes from Plant Peace Daily and VegFund co-founder Rae Sikora, who reminds us to celebrate victories along our journey towards animal liberation. This week several victories were announced! In the wake of Cecil the lion’s unfortunate murder by trophy hunter Walter James Palmer, a slew of airline carriers announced they will no longer import lion heads and body parts, and other imperiled animals. The week kept getting better for animals, as Idaho’s ag gag law was struck down in court and then California’s bobcats won protection from trapping!

Thanks to Rae for sharing her positive outlook on the animal rights movement. To hear more from Rae, please join our monthly Vegan Spirituality Online Gathering on Thursday, August 13 at 5:00 p.m. PST. Co-hosts Peace to All Beings author Judy Carman and Sustainable Activism Campaign Director Lisa Levinson will interview Rae about her perspective on veganism and spirituality. No doubt we will hear more of Rae’s infectious positivity!

Rae has been a full-time spokesperson for other species and the environment for over 35 years. She is co-founder of Plant Peace Daily, Vegfund, and the Institute for Humane Education. Rae leads compassionate living and ethical consumerism programs internationally for diverse audiences ranging from schools and prisons to businesses and universities.
