Crying Puppies Found in the Woods and Rescued

Sharon Stone, Operations Manager for In Defense of Animals’ Hope Animal Sanctuary received a plea for help with finding  homes for three crying puppies.

A  woman called us and told us that she had heard puppies crying endlessly from a distance away, and after an extensive search of the woods behind her home, she found three small puppies all alone.  The three male puppies were only about 5 weeks old and were covered in ticks and fleas.

Sharon drove with Debbie Clark, Director of Hope Animal Sanctuary, to the residence and collected all three pups.  They were taken to Hope Animal Sanctuary where they were given a much needed bath to get rid of the fleas and ticks.  They received the vaccinations and worming medication needed to keep them healthy and they were also given  vitamin supplements since they were somewhat anemic from the ticks.  These pups may have been born to a feral mom, or dumped by a heartless dog “owner.” Neither have been found.
