From Dog Meat Farm to Loving Homes

 

When one farmer agreed to shut down his dog meat farm, 103 dogs’ lives were spared. Hundreds more were also spared considering that the cages will now be torn down, never to hold another dog again.

Unfortunately, the myth that there are two types of dogs – “meat dogs” and “pet dogs” – still persists in Korea. As many of the rescued dogs are Tosas, a breed known in Korea as “meat dogs,” the chances of them finding their loving homes locally was slim. Therefore, they were brought to the United States where a number of shelters have committed to finding them all loving homes.
