Every single year over 150,000 wild horses and burros as well as domestic horses and donkeys are shipped over the American borders to face barbaric and horrific deaths in Mexico and Canada. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the agency tasked with protecting wild horses and burros and their grazing lands, is letting the horses down terribly, with thousands of them ending up in feedlots, then in the hands of kill buyers, and eventually slaughterhouses.

Between 2009 and 2012, rancher Tom Davis purchased 1,794 federally-protected wild horses  from the BLM and sent them to slaughter, according to a report from the Interior Department’s Office of Inspector General. Yet, despite this, and thousands of letters asking for justice sent by our supporters, nobody has ever been charged with a crime or punished for this heinous and illegal murder of America’s wild horses.

This can be made to never happen again if we ALL make our voices heard and lobby our federal  legislators  to pass the SAFE Act.  This bill would effectively and finally end the torture and killing of all America’s horses for their meat that would be served on foreign dinner plates in Europe and Asia.   This killing is barbaric and has to stop!
