The following companies (USA and international) have agreed to obey a new stricter standard of "not tested on animals." This new standard was established by a coalition of nine animal protection organizations to guarantee that products are, in fact, not tested on animals (either by the product manufacturer or any associated contract testing labs). Companies wishing to comply with this new standard are required to receive, from all of their suppliers and intermediary agents, written assurances that no individual ingredient, formulation or product supplied has been tested on animals. If you have bought products from companies that are no longer on this list, please write to them and ask that they join the many companies adopting this new guideline for ensuring that products are truly not tested on animals. Many of these products can be ordered by mail or found in your local natural food stores.

Please note that some of the following companies have products that contain animal by-products, such as honey, beeswax, milk and egg by-products, lanolin or slaughterhouse by-products. Do not buy products that contain animal ingredients. These come from direct animal suffering and exploitation!
The products in bold type are completely vegan and are truly cruelty-free. They contain no animal by-products. Companies outside of the United States adhere to the European version of this standard.
