In late June, five dogs boarded an airplane in South Korea, and headed to their safety in the United States. Barbara, Billy, Paul, Valencia, and Kurt were met at the Atlanta airport by In Defense of Animals’ Hope Animal Sanctuary staff and driven the five hours to our sanctuary in Mississippi.

A month later, we made the trip back to Atlanta to pick up Rudy and Happy, also saved from a South Korean slaughterhouse.

Imagine how these poor animals felt. One day, they were chained in the heat and mud, the smell of fear and death hanging in the air, with the skulls and bones of their friends and family scattered about. In the slaughterhouse, they were on concrete or hard, filthy dirt and mud floors; they heard and watched their companions brutally murdered while they cowered in fear.

Then, thanks to friends like you, two days later they were in an entirely different world.

Without your help, these 7 loving dogs would have died horrible deaths.
