For the longest time, I had been neglected and all but forgotten, tethered by a short rope to a utility pole, slowly starving with nothing within reach to eat but old hay that had been spoiled by mildew. (Yuck!) Somehow, when I was walking around desperately looking for something to eat, my rope became caught under the rotting bales of hay and then suddenly I couldn’t move around at all! I struggled so hard for so long that it nearly killed me. The rescue team at In Defense of Animals’ Hope Animal Sanctuary found out about my dire situation and within just a few hours I was safely at their sanctuary. The county deputy that worked so hard to help get the seizure order that freed me just couldn’t get me off of his mind. He stopped by frequently to see how I was doing and when my custody proceedings were cleared he adopted me himself.
