We Honor Courtney Kathleen Jones Aman

In Defense of Animals is honored to celebrate the life and legacy of a compassionate and generous soul. Born in 1952, Courtney Kathleen Jones Aman always had a special place in her heart for animals. She lived a cruelty-free vegan lifestyle and dedicated more than four decades of her life to advocating for the humane treatment of all creatures – great and small. A beloved art teacher from North Carolina, Courtney shared her love of animals with her young students, helping to inspire respect and kindness in future generations.

Courtney was always thinking about others. Rather than a memorial service, it was her wish that people contribute to an animal welfare organization or donate art supplies to a local elementary school. Personally, Courtney ensured that her legacy of helping animals would live on by making a $10,000 gift to IDA. Today, her generosity is supporting our holiday matching gift challenge to encourage others to give and doubling the impact for the animals she so loved.

Thank you, Courtney, for making the world a kinder, more compassionate place for us all.
