No bobcat trapping will happen this year in California as the ban took effect this year, rather than next year, as was a major concern of ours at In Defense of Animals and among all activists following the victory of actually winning the ban. This is very important, as the trapping season would have started in November.

After the ban became law, it was announced by The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (DFW) that the ban would not be taking effect this year, as it must first be approved by the Office of Administrative Law.

Thanks go to all of you in California who signed our follow-up alert to Chuck Bonham, Director of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife urging that the ban take effect THIS YEAR, not Next YEAR.
