Ireland's Former President Advocates Veganism

At a recent One Young World Summit, former president of Ireland Mary Robinson stood in front of approximately 1,300 young leaders from 196 nations and urged them to change their eating habits in order to achieve “climate justice.”

“We need each of us to think about our carbon footprint. Eat less meat, or no meat at all,” said Robinson.

The former president negotiated with world leaders ahead of the Paris Agreement, which failed to address the environmental impacts of animal agriculture, and she is once again stressing the need for change.

As mounting evidence suggests that animal agriculture is a leading cause of environmental degradation, environmentalists are rapidly moving towards promotion of more plant-based eating.

Whether for the environment, to protect animals from needless suffering, or to benefit your health, there are so many positive reasons to consider a vegan diet. For some helpful tips on how to make the transition, download our free veg guide.
