Jindo Update

In June of this year, seven very fortunate and grateful dogs were plucked from the literal jaws of death of the cruel Asian dog-meat trade and transported across the globe to In Defense of Animals’ Hope Animal Sanctuary in rural Mississippi. There they received food and water, veterinary care, and most importantly, the love and kindness that they had been denied their entire lives.

Two of these lucky seven, Paul and Valencia, were adopted right away, side by side into the loving arms of their new families. Next, it was Kurt’s turn. As the dogs found their new forever homes, we knew that every bit of effort, all of the late night meetings and planning sessions, all of the resources spent on securing their rescue were well worth it.

Still left are Barbara, Billy, Happy, and Rudy. Each furry face tells its own story of compassion, kindness, and perseverance. These lucky seven have endured horrors beyond imagining, and yet have remained loyal and true. Poor Rudy, who has tested positive for heartworms, must wait a little longer to start his search for a forever home, a small delay while he completes his course of treatment. But Barbara, Billy, and Happy are ready to go!

Thanks go especially to all of our supporters who have helped to make this rescue an exciting reality. Your gift, however small, has helped to change seven lives and all those that they touch, forever.

If you have not already done so, please consider making a generous gift today in support of more rescue efforts like this one and to add your strength to ours as we battle the dog (and cat) meat trade of South Korea and all of Asia.
