Revised Global March Invitation & Action Needed to Protect Elephants and Rhinos at CITES GLOBAL MARCH

In Defense of Animals is partnering up with the Global March for Elephants and Rhinos in two cities in California this year but events are occurring internationally – just check out the website to learn more!

Friday, October 2, 2015 in Los Angeles
Saturday, October 3, 2015 in San Francisco
Please note: The Sacramento even was cancelled.

The LA and SF events will feature various experts in the elephant and rhino protection field, including IDA’s Elephant Scientist, Dr. Toni Frohoff. As the numbers of elephants and rhinos continue to dwindle in the wild, we need to take a stand now more than ever before. The Global March for Elephants and Rhinos is taking place all over the world so even if you are not located in or near one of the cities that IDA is participating in, there still may be a March near you.

To find your city and for more details please go here.

USFWS Seeking Comments for CITES Elephant and Rhino Protection

I strongly support the proposed revision of the section 4(d) rule for the African elephant. Please increase the protection of ALL species proposed to the highest possible degree. In particular, we request Inclusion of the ENTIRE species of African elephant (Loxodonta africana) in Appendix I as well as the entire species of White rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum) in Appendix I. Elephants and rhinos are on the brink of extinction and profits from the sale of ivory and other wildlife trade are funding crime syndicates and terrorist groups.

Sincerely,
