Ringling Circus Protest

Ringling Circus Protest

In Defense of Animals is joining forces with other animal protection organizations to protest Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus in Brooklyn next week. Ballerinas with the Cynthia King Dance Studios will also attend carrying pictures of elephants and colorful signs that say “The Circus is Tutu Cruel.”

March 20 will be the first time that Ringling will perform at the new Barclays Center. Your help is needed to send the message that animal abuse is not welcome in Brooklyn.  Please join us in making this the biggest circus protest New York has ever seen!

When: Wednesday, March 20, 6 – 7 p.m.

Where: In front of Barclays Center, 620 Atlantic Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11217 (See this map.)

IDA will provide signs and leaflets, but feel free to bring your own.

IDA’s contact for this demo: Deborah Robinson: circus@idausa.org.

Animals used by Ringling and other circuses are separated from families, brutally trained to perform unnatural tricks, chained, confined to small cages and pens, and dragged around the country by train or truck for months on end. Help us put an end to this cruelty by informing the public that animals suffer in circuses. For more information, go to www.idausa.org
