Thomas Wade Jackson is an award winning filmmaker, photographer, and musician. He received his master’s degree from Florida State University’s prestigious College of Motion Picture Arts, where his thesis film, “Slow Dancin’ Down the Aisles of the QuickCheck” won both the Student Academy and Emmy Awards, as well as 20 other awards and honors. The film’s screenplay, and an interview with Thomas, is included in the fourth edition of the book “Crafting Short Screenplays that Connect” released by Focal PressHe directed the feature film “Mind the Gap,” currently in post-production. Thomas lived and worked in New York, Nashville, and Los Angles, and now resides in North Florida working as a photographer and digital media artist.

Thomas became vegan in 2005. After the birth of his daughter in 2012, he became ‘activated’ and found his passion and purpose in helping to create a more compassionate, peaceful world to leave his daughter and the children of all earthlings, no matter what their species. His purpose is taking shape as a documentary entitled, “The Compassion Project.” Thomas hopes to expand this film into a social movement, in which people can continue to share and add to the message of compassion, and create viable ways to take that message out into their community, via books, podcasts, new video content, workshops, and events.
