Volunteers provide assistance to this sweet girl who arrived at the Waveland Shelter with a collar embedded into her neck. |
This sweet, loving dog was transported from Waveland, Miss. to the Norfolk (Virginia)
SPCA. She didn't make a peep during the entire 22 hour drive. She must have known that after a 30 day waiting period she would be adopted out to a loving home.

IDA Volunteers transported nine cats from Baton Rouge, La. and eight cats from Waveland, Miss. to shelters in North Carolina and Virginia. Shelters in Louisiana and Mississippi are still full and overwhelmed, so IDA's help has enabled space to be freed up at the facilities.

The steady influx of influx of strays and the burgeoning stream of puppies and kittens being born as a result of unaltered animals left roaming the streets makes freeing up room for new arrivals at the Waveland shelter a top priority. Here, a volunteer feeds an abandoned pup.
