A team doing strictly food and water station duty were trying to capture a stray pit bull when they heard a scratching at the door of a nearby house. They immediately contacted dispatch to locate a search and rescue team in their area. Jane and I arrived and broke into the house, freeing this small dog who had been trapped inside for roughly a month who was out of food and water.

This dog's human showed up as rescuer Anita Carswell debated picking him up from what appeared to be an abandoned auto body shop. She located a collar and wrote in permanent marker that the dog has a guardian and is being cared for with contact info and to please leave him there.
