IDA Volunteers transported nine cats from Baton Rouge, La. and eight cats from Waveland, Miss. to shelters in North Carolina and Virginia. Shelters in Louisiana and Mississippi are still full and overwhelmed, so IDA's help has enabled space to be freed up at the facilities.

This blind, emaciated cat was transported from Baton Rouge to The Haven, a rescue organization in North Carolina. Suffering from a sever upper respiratory infection, she refused to eat or drink. Here, a volunteer administers liquid food help improve her health until veterinary care can be provided.
