Kia’s Fairy Tale Ending

Kia’s Fairy Tale Ending

Once upon a time, in the nottoodistant past, there was a puppy, a little fourlegged girl, who was later named Kia. As her life began, unnamed and unnoticed, she was seen as just another bit of garbage to be destroyed or discarded, along with her siblings. Separated from their traumatized mother, they were orphaned and alone (we can only hope Mom found her own way to a better life).

Onerecent day, a person came along who gathered these little ones all together into a bag and casually dropped them over the wall near the office of Ms. Priya Grover, a trustee of In Defense of Animals India. He or she may have known Priya to be an animal activist. Priya took them to her home and cared for them until a loving foster mom was found. Soon after Kia went up for adoption on the IDA India website, her fairy godmother went to work and sent the Patras family to meet her. They said they had looked at her photo, and it was love at first sight.

She’s very happy with her forever family and has big plans to live happily ever after with them. In the words of the Patras family to the staff and trustees at IDA India:

“I am feeling very happy sharing our good moments with IDA India, who gave us the opportunity to meet and adopt our lovely, playful and most notorious female pup, Kia. I remember when I bought her home and opened the basket she started licking my mom’s feet and slowly she won our hearts and made herself a part of our family. We spent a fun day out with Kia, teaching her to swim, running on the beachall those memorable moments. I think everyone should have an animal companion at home. They will not only complete the space, but will also fill their new home with unconditional love and compassion, and trust mewhen you come home tired from your workplace and see your dog coming to the door, showing her warm greeting, it is a different and very lovable feeling.”

All’s well that ends well – just one more fairy tale ending from the streets of Mumbai and In Defense of Animals IDA India Center.
