Lovely Waggy

Lovely Waggy

Last month, in response to a call from a concerned neighbor, the IDA India ambulance arrived at the Turbhe Navi Mumbai Center bringing in it little Waggy, who had a long, deep, gash on her head. “A blunt injury,” said our surgeon of her as he sutured her up the next morning. There is something about our night ambulances. As one employee said in Hindi, “Rath ko dukh laten hain,” which loosely translates to, “At night, we bring pain to the centers.” We certainly understand what he means; the night cases are almost always very bad, and Waggy was no exception.

Mr. Pratik, who hadn’t known how Waggy came to be injured, was relieved to find out she was over the worst and healing comfortably in our Center. When she was released back out, completely healed, he was right there and promised to keep watch and look out for her.

How much they go through…quietly and helplessly.
