While delivering mail on her daily route, a rural mail carrier saw a very thin, young puppy all alone way out on a rural road.  She simply could not leave him there in that condition, and without any signs of help nearby,  so she called In Defense of Animals’ Hope Animal Sanctuary and asked for our help.

We were happy to agree to help this puppy out who she described as sweet and lovable.

He spent that night with the kind woman and the next day we met her and retrieved the little bundle of cuteness.  We named him Silas, and set about helping him to get healthy again.   As all puppies in our care are, Silas was vaccinated and given worming medication.  He also was given a much needed bath to help combat the fleas and ticks that were covering his little body, and of course, plenty of good food and lots of love and attention.

Today Silas is a happy, healthy boy who will be heading  to a home of his very own.
