Late in June, our managing committee member, Priya, received a call about three little abandoned pups in Vikhroli, Mumbai who needed rescue. Priya coordinated with all the animal groups she knew and Navin, a concerned animal lover, reached the initial caller who had taken charge of the pups.

He was told a horror story of how these puppies were literally thrown out of a moving auto-rickshaw in the center of a road and were rescued by the caller, who, not knowing what to do next, had called Sharmee, one of our contacts, who in turn, called Priya.

One puppy, who was very sick with a severe maggot infested wound, sadly died soon after being thrown out of the vehicle. The other two were put into a free foster home coordinated by Priya and sourced by Pooja Bhandari. There they received a lot of care by Moresha Benjamin and were named Espy and Dimdim.

After a while, they were moved into a paid foster home. Espy was suspected of having a slight problem with vision, but only time will tell how it all turns out. Luckily, Dimdim was in good condition, and Priya soon circulated his pictures and information on all social networking sites she could manage as well as Watsup groups.

Soon, a wonderful family called about Dimdim. Megha Chatterjee, along with her loving mother, and others in the family took him into their hearts and home. Megha, as some of you may recognize, is a young upcoming TV star who has done a crime based show in Hindi and has been part of dance reality shows as well. Dimdim is much adored and loved. This video sent recently shows little Dimdim happily playing with his human little brother! It makes our collective heart burst with joy when a rescue and adoption ends so incredibly happily!
