IDA-India has several facilities in and around Mumbai, India where we run low-cost (and occasionally no-cost) vaccine and treatment clinics. Additionally, we also have several mobile clinics and animal ambulances that reach out to those needing assistance who cannot make it into our facilities.

One recent client, Chotu (masculine in Hindi for “little one”), was brought into one of our clinics for help with a wound that needed treatment. Chotu’s caregivers, a group of schoolboys, also care for Chotu’s mother and his sister, Choti (feminine in Hindi for “little one”). The boys brought Chotu in for treatment for his wound, but all of his follow-up appointments were conducted through mobile clinics, because the boys’ schedules wouldn’t easily allow them to get back to our regular clinic. Chotu has since made a complete recovery and he, his mom, and sister are all doing well.
