Meet Veer!

Meet Veer!

Veer, which is Hindi for “brave,” is the name we at In Defense of Animals India have aptly given to a 3-4 year-old Labrador, who was found listless and depressed by a highway on the outskirts of Mumbai between Dombivili and Kalyan.

He was spotted by Mr. Hoshang Billimoria, an animal activist, who contacted us at the IDA Center immediately. Although Veer was located quite a distance from our Deonar-Mumbai Center, we readily agreed to take him.

He arrived at our clinic extremely malnourished, injured, and with maggots in his wounds and paws. Our veterinary team and volunteers are working with determination to heal is wounds and build up his strength with extra nutrition, loving attention, and active play.

Veer is a sweetheart, and, so typically like a lab, trusting and willing to please. He loves playing with a ball, and when he plays catch with staff member, Ajay, he plays like a true teammate, giving the ball back when asked. He then chills out in the cool office with his toy.

We wonder what he must have gone through before he came to us. His paws are still not healed enough for his nails to be clipped all the way, but Veer is ready for a foster home, and with hopes, soon an adopter.

We are on the lookout for the perfect match for Veer.
