My name is Kimbang

My name is Kimbang and I was rescued by In Defense of Animals – Africa in late December of 2014. Just after Christmas, Cameroon authorities brought me, captive in a small wooden box, to Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Center. Police had picked up the box, with me inside, after it was discarded in the street by suspicious men who ran when they saw the authorities. Old scars around my waist from a rope that had been a cruel restraint, the filthy dark box and my frail physical and mental state were indicative of the horrors I had endured after surviving the slaughter of my family. With good nutrition and loving care at Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Center I am now happy, healthy and forever safe! Please help IDA to continue to provide sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees by making a year-end donation today.
