MIRACLE DOG NAMED HOPE LOOKING FOR THE BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT: A FAMILY OF HER OWN
Dog rescued from brink of death finds life in US filled with friends
Phoenix, Ariz. - An ASU student, In Defense of Animals (IDA) and For the Luv of Dogz Rescue have given an abandoned and seriously ill dog the best Christmas present--a healthy life surrounded by compassionate friends. The student, in Mexico City on a visit, spotted a small dog collapsed on the street and took the dog, named Hope by her rescuers, to a veterinarian who stabilized her and provided a health certificate to get her to the U.S. and to IDA.
IDA placed Hope in the care of veterinarian Dr. Raymond Gniadek of the Arizona Pet Resort, who determined that Hope was seriously ill from the worst case of demodetic mange he had seen. The condition had weakened Hope's entire immune system. Hope bravely stayed at the Arizona Pet Resort for several weeks so that she could be treated and monitored because the mange, the open sores caused by it, and the required treatment made Hope's condition more delicate. Dr. Gniadek also discovered that Hope had a thyroid condition. However, despite all of these obstacles, Hope has recovered and may be the happiest dog we have ever seen.
Hillary Brose, with help from For the Luv of Dogz and Paw Placement Rescue volunteers, took Hope under her wing while she was at the Pet Resort and discovered she is not only brave but also loving and friendly. PETS 911 chipped in and paid a portion of Hope's veterinary costs. Hillary has placed Hope in a foster home so she will have a home for Christmas, but this loveable little dog needs a permanent family of her very own.
Hope is about 2 years old and loves life and everyone she meets. She is in foster care with three other dogs ranging in age from 18 months to 9 years old and is every dog's friend. She gets along fine with indoor dog-savvy cats and adores children. Hope just thinks the world is great now and is convinced that everyone should have a chance to play with her or rub her belly! She is currently recovering from eye surgery that will fix a problem with irritating eyelashes! Hope has an interesting (conversation piece) tail, as the last two inches are hairless and a lovely shiny pink! Hope does not seem to have any problems with this so we do not feel that her new family would have to worry either.
Hope is doggy door trained and loves all dog toys and cat toys too! Although Hope thinks it would be a fine idea to sleep on the bed at night, she was voted out by the two-legged members of her foster family due to available sleeping space. Hope happily sleeps in her lovely crate by the bed!
Hope would love a family with another friendly and playful dog OR a family that would spend a lot of time playing with her. She enjoys walks and car rides! The only thing that would make life in the U.S. better for Hope is her very own family that she could be devoted to for the rest of her life.
