IDA Sponsors the National Feral Cat Summit

National Event Converges in San Francisco Drawing Attendees, Experts from Across U.S.

San Francisco—In Defense of Animals (IDA) and Neighborhood Cats present the 3rd Annual National Feral Cat Summit. This one-day conference, which garnered rave reviews last year, will feature presentations and workshops by feral cat experts and Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) leaders from around the country as well as a special welcome address by IDA founder and President Elliot Katz, DVM.

When: Saturday, September 9, 2006 9:30a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Where: South San Francisco Conference Center, 255 South Airport Blvd.

Daniel Crain, the President of the San Francisco SPCA, will give the keynote address. Esther Mechler, Founder and President of SPAY USA and an early pioneer of the spay/neuter movement, and Dr. Laura Gay Senk, creator of the Long Island Cat Project - a county-wide feral spay/neuter initiative - will explain how to develop a low cost spay/neuter network in your community.

Other presenters include Bryan Kortis, Esq. of Neighborhood Cats, Sandra Monterose of the ASPCA, and IDA’s Valerie Sicignano. The Summit will also feature special guest Anitra Frazier, author of The New Natural Cat, who will do book-signings and offer a Question & Answer session.
