Vegan Bodybuilder Champions Animals as IDA Spokesperson Tough Guy Touts the Power of Compassion During Connecticut Speaking Events San Rafael, Calif.—Kenneth Williams, a champion vegan bodybuilder and spokesperson for the animal protection organization In Defense of Animals, will be making appearances in Connecticut to speak about how people can help animals and improve their health through adopting a vegan lifestyle. He will also be promoting IDA’s second annual World Go Vegan Days (October 27, 28, 29, 2006) which were developed to celebrate veganism and to inspire others to adopt the compassionate, healthy lifestyle. Accompanied by Connecticut’s Compassionate Living Project, Kenneth will be speaking at multiple venues, addressing hundreds of high school students as well as offering venues for the general public. When: Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006, 12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m. When: Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006, 7:00 p.m. Williams, a vegan (one who consumes no animals products - no meat, eggs, dairy or honey), has already established himself as a rising star in the world of professional bodybuilding. Now he’s pumped up about animals. His support takes compassion to new heights and proves that it’s possible to win major bodybuilding competitions without eating meat, dairy or eggs. In fact, at the Natural Olympia, a competition that is considered “the Super Bowl of natural bodybuilding,” Williams finished third out of more than 200 competitors from 37 nations. He has also been featured in VegNews and Satya magazines, the Marin Independent-Journal and periodically co-hosts the Los Angeles radio program “Go Vegan.with Bob Linden.” Williams wants the world to know that not only is veggie power better for animals, but it is also better fuel for the body. He speaks of medical studies that have proven that consumption of animal products is directly linked to some of the biggest killers in the U.S. - heart disease, cancer and stroke - as well as diabetes and infection by salmonella and other bacteria. Furthermore, as many as 75 percent of all Americans are lactose intolerant and suffer as a result of consuming dairy products which, contrary to the dairy industry’s claims, are not necessary for good health. “Sixteen billion animals are killed in the U.S. alone each year and suffer unimaginable cruelties for the sake of human palates. Animals raised on factory farms are debeaked, dehorned, branded, and castrated without painkillers. Many have their throats slit while they are still fully conscious,” says Williams. “But eating animal products is killing us too. A vegan diet is better for our health, the environment and the animals we share the planet with.” For more information, please visit www.WorldGoVeganDays.com. |
