IDA Offers $2500 Reward for Information Leading to Arrest and Conviction of Individuals Who Attacked and Killed Kittens
San Fernando Valley, Calif.—On August 2, a San Fernando Valley resident discovered three dead kittens in her yard. Because the kittens looked healthy and plump with shiny fur, the resident took the kittens to her veterinarian to determine why they died. After performing necropsies, the vet confirmed her suspicions of foul play, reporting that all three kittens suffered fractured skulls, blood in their eyes and noses, chests and abdomens, ruptured lungs, severe contusions, and broken ribs. The vet’s conclusion: the kittens were deliberately beaten to death. International animal protection organization In Defense of Animals (IDA) is joining the Stray Cat Alliance’s efforts to bring the perpetrator(s) of this heinous crime to justice by offering a reward of $2,500 for any information which results in the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for beating the kittens to death. Would you please consider sharing this information with your audience? It may be the only hope for finding the person(s) responsible for this reprehensible act. Anyone with information on the case should contact Danno Hanks with Backstreet Investigations at (818) 939-2534. Studies by the F.B.I. and U.S. Department of Justice have proven the connection between animal abuse, child abuse, and domestic violence. Violent acts toward animals, when left unaddressed, have been linked to intensified violence and neglect and/or expansion to human victims. For example, serial killers Ted Bundy, Earl Kenneth Shriner, David Berkowitz (a.k.a. “Son of Sam”), Brenda Spencer, and Columbine’s Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold all reportedly tortured animals before murdering humans. “When people report animal cruelty, they help protect animals and people from intensified violence,” says Elliot M. Katz, DVM, IDA’s President and founder. For more information about IDA, visit www.idausa.org.
