Local Group Seeks Holiday Help
for African Chimpanzees

Portland, OR - Friends and family asking for gift suggestions this year? Stumped for meaningful holiday gifts to give to loved ones? Why not make a difference in the life of a chimpanzee this holiday season?

Consider the Adopt a Chimpanzee program at In Defense of Animals’ Sanga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Center in Cameroon, Africa. Through the program, you can sponsor one of 33 chimpanzees who live at the sanctuary. These include six adults rescued from years of confinement on chains or in small cages, and 27 babies, all orphans of Cameroon’s thriving bush meat trade.

In addition to providing a naturalistic environment for rescued chimpanzees, the In Defense of Animals- Africa program is waging a nationwide campaign to stop the commercial poaching trade that threatens Cameroon’s chimpanzee population with imminent extinction.

Even a small contribution can make a large difference in Africa, and every donation is urgently needed to help us care for rescued chimpanzees and continue to save free-living chimpanzees from the brutal bush meat trade.

This year more than ever, holiday wishes for Peace on Earth hold great meaning. Why not give and/or request a gift that will really make a difference in the lives of our closest genetic kin. For a monthly $15 for at least six months you will receive an 8x10 photograph of your chimpanzee; a full biography of your chimpanzee; a signed Certificate of Guardianship; and the satisfaction of knowing you have made a real difference in the life of your new chimpanzee friend in Cameroon!
