Next Target: Olive Garden!

Submit our letter below requesting positive change for animals!

In a world that is largely controlled by big business interests and laws which are molded to suit them, our advocacy for animals must be strategic and target both.

What much of this comes down to is supply and demand theory, especially in the food industry. Pressuring powerful food chains like Darden (owner of the popular U.S. chain Olive Garden) to provide vegan options, is a very powerful action each of us can take to make cruelty-free meals more mainstream and socially convenient for the larger population, regardless of whether we would choose to eat there personally.

People often question if petitions and letters actually make a difference. While they don’t always work in every situation, they definitely do work often enough to justify filling them out Witness the huge effect they have had on many large companies; Most recently, Ben and Jerry’s, IKEA, Subway, Chipotle, White Castle and Starbucks all agreed to increase their vegan menu options. These companies made changes after being overwhelmed by consumer demand which was primarily organized and channeled through online letters and petitions.

It is clear that when can justify our growing market demand, big companies are willing to change. However, they have no reason to do so unless we keep the pressure on them full force, so let’s keep the momentum going!

Sign our automated letter to Darden, the mega-corporation which controls Olive Garden and let them know we want to see simple cruelty-free options on the menu!
