Patience – An Activist Virtue

Patience – An Activist Virtue

As animal activists, we witness daily unimaginable horrors that befall animals. We know that every minute, literally hundreds of thousands of animals are killed. The incredible pressure to save all of the animals who are suffering right now contributes to burnout among activists. It’s a recipe for exhaustion!

Speaker, trainer, and strategist Tobias Leenaert explains why we need to take a broader view and shares tips for being a lifelong animal advocate in a webinar on “Sustainable Activism: Have a Little Patience.”

Leenaert has an extensive background in animal rights, having co-founded the Belgian organization Ethical Vegetarian Alternative (EVA), the first vegetarian/vegan organization in the world to receive structural funding from its government. Under his management, EVA launched a successful campaign that culminated with Ghent becoming the first city in the world to officially support a weekly vegetarian day.

Tobias left EVA to dedicate his time to speaking, writing, and consulting for vegan advocates and organizations. Passionate about effectiveness, Tobias writes regularly for his blog, “The Vegan Strategist,” and is currently writing a book on vegan strategy. Tobias lives in Ghent, Belgium, with his partner, two dogs, and seven cats.

Hear more activist strategies from Tobias Leenaert on our next Sustainable Activism Webinar on Thursday, January 5, 5:00 p.m. – 6 p.m. PST (8:00 p.m. – 9 p.m. EST). You can join this live webinar via phone or online. For an optimal experience, please login to the meeting from your Chrome browser.
