For some time now, we have been making determined efforts to encourage adoption of the animals we rescue and rehabilitate at our In Defense of Animals India Center. Initially, some years ago, it was difficult to attract adopters for even the young, healthy animals, but with renewed efforts on all fronts, we have increased the numbers of animals placed in new homes tenfold.

The advent of social media, growing public awareness, and community goodwill and support work to enhance not only adoptions, but all of our IDA India services. With great help from our President and the management team, we are reaching a wider audience of potential adopters who want to provide love and security to an older cat or dog, or one with special needs.

More of our blind and lame animals are happily settling into new homes. Petal, a blind adult cat, had been a long-term resident at our center until recently when Mr. Anand Siva and family came in to take her into their loving home.

Things are looking up for the street-living animals in Mumbai!
