$1000 Fine for Dragging Dog Behind Pickup is NOT Enough!

Let the Judge Know We Want Real Justice

We’ve heard, and seen the brutal treatment Champ, the dog, received at the hands of his so-called “guardian,” filmed as he was dragged by the neck, resisting and crying, until the truck stopped and witnesses intervened.

Within the city of Houlka and throughout Chickasaw County in Mississippi, authorities will be citing this case for years.  The question is, will they mention that Davis got a mere 40% of the $2,500 fine he should have been fined and that his 6-month jail sentence was suspended unless he commits, is identified for, is charged with, and convicted of another violent act against an animal in the next two years?

We, who understand the volume that animal cruelty speaks of a deviant personality, an abuser, if not a potential serial killer, are appalled at the sentencing and the fact that this heinous crime was a only a misdemeanor.

Please sign the petition below expressing your anger and sorrow regarding this paltry sentence handed out to Champ’s abuser.  We must be a voice that’s heard for animals. They speak and protest their treatment. We just don’t listen. However, we can make an impact and impress upon our justice system the need for meaningful change.
